Construction of new self-propelled trailer

At the start of this year, AMT Rail Road delivered its first self-propelled rail trailer in Switzerland. The trailer allows heavy loads and vehicles to be transported by rail. Another customer ordered a new concept trailer around three months later. The use of a self-driving rail trailer will allow more efficient deployment of the current crane trolleys (cranes on rail lorries). The trailer will be used for the supply of materials during construction work and similar activities. In addition to driving, the Tier 4 final diesel power pack from Hydac has a number of additional hydraulic functions so that the trailer can subsequently be used as an equipment carrier for a ballast spreader or ballastbroom, for example. The new trailer is compact and modular in form and can be transported with ease on a lorry equipped with a hydraulic hooklift hoist. The first test runs are scheduled to take place in January.
